When the fair value of revalued assets differs materially from its carrying amount, a further revaluation is required. Some items of property, plant & equipment experience significant and volatile change in fair value, thus necessitating annual re-valuation. Such frequent re-valuations are unnecessary for items of property, plant & equipment with only insignificant changes in fair value. (cont. 2)
